Abinadi Meza has received a Tanne Foundation Award in recognition of artistic achievement. The two other 2007 individual recipients are Chris Byars, composer (New York) and Elizabeth Wong, playwright (Los Angeles).

Meza will premier a new video/sound installation, Seeing is Dreaming, in a featured video exhibition at Art Chicago 2007. 16 artists were selected for this exhibition, curated by Joel Beck of Roebling Hall Gallery, NY.

Abinadi Meza will present a new sound installation, The Other Echo, in a two person exhibition with Alexandra Do Carmo at Carlos Carvalho Contemporanea in Lisbon Portugal at Rua Jolie Braga Santos 1600-123. The exhibit was curated by Miguel Amado and Filipa Oliveira, and runs through October 31.

Abinadi Meza will premiere The Perfect Room, a site-specific, portable video with sound as a part of the 8x8x8 LON/MSP/NYC exhibit at The Soap Factory in Minneapolis. Abinadi Meza will present two 360 degree Concerts in the exhibition Open-Ended (the art of engangement) at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Using Rirkrit Tiravanija's Untitled 2006 (a spiral-shaped stage) as a sound performance platform, Meza will broadcast in a 360 degree spatial pattern. Click here for more information.

The Prisoner, a new animation by Abinadi Meza will screen in the first annual GPoint Electronic Festival, Brooklyn, NY on May 1. The GPoint Electronic Festival is a project of New York Dance and Arts Innovations, a non-profit organization. This year's festival will feature works using electronic technologies including live music, video art, interactive art, and performance art. Click here for more info.

Meza is a featured artist in the latest issue of Drunkenboat, an international online journal of the arts. This special double issue focuses on Aphasia and the Arts and the poet William Meredith. Meza's sound works are included in edition II of Soundlab Channel, a project by Agricola de Cologne, media artist and New Media curator (Cologne/Germany). Soundlab Channel is part of a series held in Palestine, Israel and Germany, starting on 17 February with an installation at CAVE Gallery at Bethlehem International Center/Palestine. Abinadi Meza is performing a live laptop set in the experimental music concert of the 3rd annual Spark Festival of Electronic Art and Music. This four-day festival is hosted by the University of Minnesota's School of Music, and includes special guest performers Paul D. The Prisoner, a new video by Abinadi Meza will premiere at Rochester Art Center (MN) and from 2.4.05-3.31.05. The Prisoner is a 14 minute video with sound. The footage is appropriated from the 1928 silent film La Passion de Jeanne D’Arc by Carl Dreyer, and is re-rendered as an animation. The content revolves around Jeanne's political status as a prisoner and her torture at the hands of interrogators and prison guards. For more info, click here.

Abinadi Meza and Alison Gerber will present a new radio/installation project, Bobbing for Apples, at Art's Birthday Party at Konstfack in Stockholm, Sweden from January 20-24, 2005. This project will be broadcast by Sveriges Radio (Stockholm), Radio Russia (Moscow), ORF (Vienna), RNE (Madrid), Radio Berlin-Brandenburg (Berlin), SWR (Baden-Baden), Radio France (Paris), DeutschlandRadio (Berlin), and 747 AM (Holland). Bobbing for Apples is an indoor underwater concert and game.

Qingming, a new sound/text installation by Abinadi Meza will be presented at Janalyn Hanson White Gallery, Cedar Rapids, IA from November 19-December 16, 2004. Abinadi Meza is included in Radio, Access, Democracy, organized by Walker Art Center as a part of the Radio RE-volt media activism project. Radio RE-volt was initiated by Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla; Meza will join them in this project, along with Tetsuo Kogawa and artists from free103point9 transmission arts in Brooklyn.

On Saturday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 pm, Meza will perform with Tom Roe, Ben Owen, and Damian Catera in Radio 4x4, a live sound broadcast on 4 seperate radio frequencies.
